Yes, LittleBigPlanet is coming...fast. This upcoming puzzle platform and world creation video game for the PS3 from Media Molecule will make its way to the states this October, giving gamers the chance to indulge in some good old fashioned world building.
The game, in which players control small characters to shape and develop the environment to build spaces either individually, collaboratively, or competitively; will incorporate high levels of focus for players using physics-based game play. As players navigate through worlds using jumping, grabbing, pushing, and running actions, they'll also complete puzzles to advance the story further. Enemies will range from tiny burning logs to big bosses, making the challenge great for gamers of all skill levels. In addition, the major focus of this game's release will its participation in the global community of PlayStation Network, allowing for players to interact and play online.
Since the unveiling of the new game in 2007, LittleBigPlanet has elicited positive reactions from around the world from greats like BBC News blogger Darren Waters, IGN, 1UP, Slashdot Games editor Michael Zenke, and Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America.
“LittleBigPlanet is perhaps one of the most dazzling demos I've seen in the last ten years,” wrote Waters in a BBC news post.
In addition, many critics are acclaiming LittleBigPlanet could be the new flagship application of the Playstation 3, which could make sales profitable in the next few months, something which hasn't been happening for Sony since the product's release.
