Based on a Japanese novel by Miyuki Miyabe and retold in a manga adaptation by Yoichiro Ono, Brave Story takes players into the magical realm of Vision, where hero Tatsuya must find five mystical gems in order to save his friend Miki's life.
Our story begins as Tatsuya discovers that his friend Miki has fallen ill to some unknown sickness. Suddenly, a voice appears and asks Tatsuya if he wants to save his friend. Agreeing, Tatsuya is transported to another world called Vision in order to journey as a novice “traveler' to the Goddess of Fortune to have a single wish granted – one that will save Miki's life and return him to his homeland. Befriending a colorful cast of characters along the way, Tatsuya bridges the realms of reality and fantasty, thus changing his life forever.
In addition to various character influences, Brave Story also features the presence of various races within the vision world, which are:
Ankhakin: humans
Kitkin: small animals like housecats
Waterkin: aquatic animals
Pankin: short human-like beings
Beastkin – larger animals like tigers
Demonkin – demonic creatures from the world of The Dark
Firewyrms – heroic dragons created by the Goddess to protect the world from demonkin
This imaginative take on the population will undoubtably keep gamers engaged in the fantastic plot and gaming options.
With no load time between battles, a rich story line filled with cultural mythology, Asian animation, and dynamic movements, Brave Story serves as a display of high quality PSP gameplay. In addition to the wide array of characters and abilities, players also get to collect rare birds and items which can later be swapped or captured with other networked players.
