In the near future, there are only two ways to escape the stifling banality of everyday life: enter the military or become a star in the sport of lifting, a sport in which lifters ride a ref-board that allows flight by reflecting the special "trapar" particles that flow through the atmosphere.

After abandoning the corrupt military and becoming a profressional lifter, Sumner has become disenchanted with the life of lifting. Fate ensues, when his lost love returns and enlists his help to discover and stop the source creating the dangerous CFS. Join Sumner on his quest to find the truth, compete in lift races, and pilot a variety of powerful LFOs in intense ground and aerial based combat.
