Activision continues their popular LUV series with PONY LUV for the PC. As the title suggests, this entry in the strategy series focuses on ponies. Gamers have their choice of ponies to raise, groom, train, and play with as they prepare for competitions and learn what it takes to care for a horse. Gamers start out by choosing one of six different ponies to raise. They include a Dartmoor, a Chincoteague, a Dales, a Welsh Mountain, a Fell, and a Connemara. These breads may mean little to the average player, but that doesn’t really matter: the only real different is the color. Once players select their pony, they have to start caring of it. The little horse has six different categories of needs: bladder, hunger, fatigue, thirst, confidence, and cleanliness. Gamers will have to make certain all six categories are taken care of, else their pony may fall ill or become ill-tempered. Players can also teach their pony several tricks, including cantering, jumping, and saluting. These tricks will then be put to use in the competitions. Ponies can compete in two categories: dressage and race. The dressage contest judges tricks and how obedience the pony is, while the racing is a straight fight to get to the finish line. PONY LUV is a gorgeous game filled with gorgeous ponies. These ponies react just like real horses do, and horse lovers of all ages, especially younger children, will love raising their own pony
