In CRASH TWINSANITY for the PS2, Vivendi Interactive has hero Crash Bandicoot do something he has never done in the CRASH BANDICOOT series: join forces with evil genius Dr. Neo Cortex to defeat an even bigger threat to Nsanity Island. A pair of evil twins from the 10th dimension plan to destroy Crash, steal Dr. Cortex’s brain, and destroy the Nsanity Islands! As Crash moves through the various levels of the game, he will at times be joined by Cortex, which gives players more attacks and abilities. Alone, Crash can use his standard spin attack to defeat his enemies and solve puzzles. Together, the pair can perform side-by-side spin attacks, plus Crash can swing Cortex around to attack enemies or throw him across chasms to lower bridges. There are other ways in which the two interact, such as one level where Crash has to clear a path for fleeing Cortex. The game also introduces Nina Cortex, Dr. Cortex’s niece, as a playable character. She has a spin attack similar to Crash’s and the ability to extend her robotic arms to attack enemies without getting too close. The storyline itself includes the CRASH BANDICOOT series trademark humor and gags, including over-the-top reactions and dialogue. Fans of the series will appreciate the change of pace from the usual Crash verses Cortex plot and the new team abilities. Newcomers will find the fast-paced action and challenge of CRASH TWINSANITY a reason to pick up past and future CRASH games.
