EA Sports’ MADDEN NFL series returns for another season with MADDEN NFL 06 for the GBA. While the 2005 edition of the game focused on improving defense, MADDEN NFL 06 includes updated offensive abilities and an updated roster. The game is setup for both beginners and experts. While beginners will find the easy to learn controls allow them to start a game immediately, experts will find the ability to reverse plays, spin and dive, and call audibles, allow them to control their team very effectively. MADDEN NFL 06 includes all the gameplay modes that fans have come to expect and enjoy from the series, such as season, quick play, mini camp, situation, and two-minute drill. Many of the modes are designed specifically for the GBA and don’t take a lot of time to complete. Most gameplay modes support two-player link play, as well. The new mode for 2006 is superstar mode. Here, players create a player and then lead him through his NFL career. Players can mold their character’s personality any way they want, making him either a team player, a ball-hog, or something in-between while securing sponsors and making millions. All in all, MADDEN NFL 06 includes everything players love about the series while completely revamping the passing system and adding a new gameplay mode. Football gamers won’t want to pass up these exciting additions.
