Capcom’s fantasy/horror fighting game DARKSTALKERS is a classic, and now all of the favorite characters have come to the PSP in DARKSTALKERS CHRONICLE: THE CHAOS TOWER. The cast of almost 20 characters includes both returning characters like the succubus Morrigan, vampire Demitri, and werewolf John, plus new additions to the roster, like the Chinese ghost Hsien-Ko, the demon Jedah, and a Little Red Riding Hood-like character Baby Bonnie Hood. The battles themselves combine the abilities and speed of Capcom’s other fighting series, STREET FIGHTER, while adding in horror elements and some anime-inspired graphics. The game includes the standard arcade mode, training mode, multiplayer mode, and Chaos Tower mode. Chaos Tower mode gives players the choice of three different characters, each of whom desire to reach the top of the Chaos Tower. Each floor of the tower is guarded by one of the other characters, and each floor has its own special rules. On some floors, for example, certain attacks will be disabled or players will be forced to rely only on weak attacks. For Wi-Fi multiplayer purposes, the game supports the standard two-player match, a four-player round robin setup, and limit mode, which allows players to restrict matches to certain moves or abilities, much like those in the Chaos Tower mode. Gamers who remember the original DARKSTALKERS games and want to see their favorite characters return won’t want to miss DARKSTALKER CHRONICLE: THE CHAOS TOWER. It faithfully captures the arcade classic’s characters, style, and fun.
