Capcom has put out a number of different martial arts platformer games over the years, including the hit series TEKKEN, but never have they done a fighting game starting cats before. LEGEND OF KAY for the PS2 changes all that by putting players in control of a feisty little kitten by the name of Kay. On the island of Yenching, four animal species cats, pandas, rabbits, and frogslive in peace thanks to the waters of life and The Way, a peaceful philosophy of coexistence. Unfortunately, this makes them easy pickings for the rats and gorillas, who have joined forces to take control of the waters of life. Only Kay, a young orphan cat who loves martial arts, can stop them. While Kay and the other animals may look cute and fuzzy, this exterior hides deadly attacks. Kay can use his claws, a hammer, and a sword to hack and slash his way through his foes, and each weapon has special combo attacks and moves to finish off enemies. The action is a lot like KINGDOM HEARTS or ZELDA, with players slashing, running, and jumping through levels. There are also a number of different puzzles for Kay to solve and platforming skills like jumping, climbing, and dodging to master. There are also some racing mini-games and other fun distractions for players to help guide Kay through. Cat fans of all ages and action gamers are sure to enjoy the fun and action of LEGEND OF KAY.
