Hunt and kill? In a Tom Clancy game? While the theme does not come as a big surprise, TOM CLANCY’S SPLINTER CELL: CHAOS THEORY, made for XBOX by Ubisoft, is the third and best game in the Splinter Cell series with a techno storyline that will keep players enthralled. Players will join Sam Fisher in his espionage campaign against the threat of an information war between North Korea, Japan, and the United States. Fisher must find and destroy all enemies who are advancing the technology that will enable the onslaught of global information warfare. TOM CLANCY’S SPLINTER CELL: CHAOS THEORY has both single and multiplayer modes. In multiplayer, players can either compete or work on a cooperative campaign. A series of missions awaits the solo player, missions designed to be played linearly but that are generally open-ended and fun to complete. A new feature for this series is Sam Fisher’s combat knife, which is a change from the stranglehold Fisher previously used. However, the knife is primarily cosmetic since players cannot use it once they have grabbed an enemy from behind (though players can use it before they have grabbed their enemy). Instead, players must use the combat techniques that Fisher is famous for: choking or using the knee on the lower back. TOM CLANCY fans will thoroughly enjoy this newest installment in the SPLINTER CELL series better missions, more effective attacks, and high-quality graphics make for a great game.
