He’s back, folks. Rayman and his pack of pals (including the likes of Globox, Teensies, Tily, Henchman, New Henchman, Razorbeard, and Razorbeard Wife) have returned with a take on RAYMAN that’s like a multiplayer version of the original game. There are 29 tracks 16 racetracks and 13 arena levels on which to test your skills. As per usual, you’ll use a combination of running, jumping, swinging, power-ups, and special skills to best your opponents and win the battle on each level. There are multiple paths to choose from, with a combination of quicker and slower options for players of varied skill sets. If you ever had a chance to play the classic RAYMAN titles (before the 3D versions came around), you’ll find the controls in RAYMAN ARENA pretty darned familiar; all of the glides, jumps, and flips are just about the same as the classic installments, and the graphics are delightfully retroactive. You can play against the computer’s advanced AI, but the game is clearly at its best in multiplayer modes.
